• A hot sauce in one of its purest forms, Sambal oelek is merely freshly ground hot red chillis with some salt and vinegar for flavor and preservation. Sure, it's simple, but it's also incredibly awesome and infinitely useful in the kitchen.

  Originating from the far east, Sambal Oelek is primarily used as a base for cooking but It can also be served as a condiment at the dinner table. It's spicy, tangy taste adds both heat and flavour to all your dishes. You can spread it thinly over your halal steak to marinade before grilling, or mix with mayonnaise to make a delicious topping for your halal burger.

• We recommend using the paste sparingly as it is quite spicy! Add to pretty much anything you cook and it will give it a kick and flavour from the full red chillis used.
